Safety critical systems are pervasive in modern society. Financial systems, transportation systems, medical record retrieval systems, and air traffic control systems are all could potentially threaten economic, property, or personal safety. However, this class of safety critical system is not amenable to the existing approaches to achieving safe software. Hence a new approach to software safety is needed. A software approach to modify the movement of four-wheeled mobile robots in complex trajectories by combining the local navigation system (odometry) with the basic global navigation aids. Because of the necessity of design knowledge, first the design process and control flowchart of wheeled robot are described.
